The study revealed that 53 percent of respondents had developed courses spanning five or more disciplines in higher education. It also revealed that instructional designers tend to be sought-after in the Humanities (81 percent) and the social sciences (79 percent) in STEM-related fields because lab-focused fields tend to be a more challenging transition into the online or virtual space.

There is much to be done in terms of EdTech projects within our higher education institutions

Like other leadership positions in instructional design, teaching in higher education requires an instructional design professional to think about how to prepare and understand the process behind learning. This is beyond simply publishing a document online or creating a tech-based quiz.

The EdTech-focused education degree you earned should set you in a position to work with postsecondary faculty to imagine the future and create and design efficient, interactive learning experiences.
